Reload command in Cisco WSA

Todays lesson is about the reload-command. Yes, there is a reload-command in CLI of the Ironport Web Security Appliance. There are only two facts that is good to know about the command. One good thing and one bad thing.

Good thing: when pressing enter after the reload command you get prompted “Are you sure? y/N”

Bad thing: the reload command wipes the configuration and does a total factory reset.

Take away from todays lesson: read the warnings before entering that Y-key!

There is a reload and a reboot command. Reload command will wipe all the config but reboot will just powercycle the device and keep the configurations.
